Cyclohexyl maleimide is one kind of Maleimides.It is the product of the reaction of maleic anhydride with cyclohexylamine.We study under different reaction condiction (reaction temperature,modes of feeding, catalyst with various con- centration) to find the optimum condition and to obtain the best yield. Experimental results show that the higher the reaction tempe- rature the faster the reaction rate.The yield of cofeed mode or semi-cofeed mode is better than batch mode.Consider the convenie- nce and cost of operation,semi-cofeed mode is better than cofeed mode. Phosphoric acid is the catalysts of choice.With the recycle of catalyst,phosphoric acid at 60% concentration in the first re- action has the best efficiency.In the recycle runs,the yield is proportion to the catalyst concentration. From the experimental data we can obtain the reaction kineti- cs of cyclohexylmaleimide,rCHMI =k[CHMAA]^a[H3PO4]^b,where the reaction constant k is 1.59;the order of cyclohexyl maleiamic acid (a) is 1.23;the order of phosphoric acid (b)is 0.523.
