Ecept for the exploration of the relative papers and theories, this study seeks the relative data by the measures of apparatus, and through the quantitative assesses to build more sufficient foundation of decision, and to offer the ergonomical counsels in use or design of walking- aids. The results of this study find that the standing stability of walking-aids use elevates with the increase of the base of support, and the mediolater travel of the center of pressure (COP) is generally more obvious than anteroposterior. This study finds that single cane can reduse the extent of postural sway for 25.65%, four-footed cane for 39.89%, axillary crutch for 53.02%,and walker for 65.50%. And for the aspect of walking environment, stride length and walking speed in walking up and down the ramp are both less than in walking on the level. The posture of the trunk presents the tend of deviating to the direction of walking-aid,and the movement of rotation is most obvious. Besides, about the human-factors counsels of the height of handgrip, this study suggests that the user should take the height of hand for the standard, single cane adds 7cm, four- footed cane adds 7.5cm,axillary crutch adds 2cm,walker adds 9.5cm for the proper heigth of the handgrip. It must be emphasized that this counsels only provide insights on the use of walking-aids during standing. Finally, this study suggests that ID designers devote themselves to the design of walking- aids, should understand the characteristics of walking-aids users, and undertake the design on the balance of human-machine- enviroment factors. 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工業設計研究所 === 83 === This study focuses on the influences and benefits of using
walking-aids to stand and walk from the design-viewpoint of
human-machine-environment system. Ecept for the exploration of
the relative papers and theories, this study seeks the relative
data by the measures of apparatus, and through the quantitative
assesses to build more sufficient foundation of decision, and
to offer the ergonomical counsels in use or design of walking-
aids. The results of this study find that the standing
stability of walking-aids use elevates with the increase of the
base of support, and the mediolater travel of the center of
pressure (COP) is generally more obvious than anteroposterior.
This study finds that single cane can reduse the extent of
postural sway for 25.65%, four-footed cane for 39.89%, axillary
crutch for 53.02%,and walker for 65.50%. And for the aspect of
walking environment, stride length and walking speed in walking
up and down the ramp are both less than in walking on the
level. The posture of the trunk presents the tend of deviating
to the direction of walking-aid,and the movement of rotation is
most obvious. Besides, about the human-factors counsels of the
height of handgrip, this study suggests that the user should
take the height of hand for the standard, single cane adds 7cm,
four- footed cane adds 7.5cm,axillary crutch adds 2cm,walker
adds 9.5cm for the proper heigth of the handgrip. It must be
emphasized that this counsels only provide insights on the use
of walking-aids during standing. Finally, this study suggests
that ID designers devote themselves to the design of walking-
aids, should understand the characteristics of walking-aids
users, and undertake the design on the balance of human-machine-
enviroment factors.
