碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 農業機械工程學系 === 83 === A self-propelled seeding transplanter was designed and constructed for the vegetable growers in Taiwan in order to mechanize vegetable seeding transplanting and solve labor shortage. The dimensions of the machine are 178,120 and 120 cm in length width and height ,respeectively, and with gross weigth of 550 kgs.It is equipped with a 15 Hp single-cylinder diesl engine as power unit.Two rows of seeding which is 45 cm in row spacing are shifted simultaneously to a plant bed of 90 cm wide by the machine with a plant spacing variable from 45 to 60 cm. Two operators are needed to run this transplant . One is charged to drive the machine as well as to shift a row of seedings,and the other is just responsible to shift a row of seedings.The condition of press wheels in this machine are adjustable to fit the variety of plants and/or field conditions .Preliminary experimenttal results showed that the performances of this transplanter meet the test standard of Committee of Agriculture.This transplanterd drops the seedlings smoothly, with low damage,and precise spacings. Comparing with tractor- mounted seedling transplanters,this machine simplify the operating procedues and save one labor.
