In this article, the vibration characteristic of the original seat is obtained by the results of modal test and the finite element analysis, which shows whether it can influence the operator. Using the cross-linkage mechanism, an agricultural vehicle seat is designed. To obtain the feasible design of the seat, the finite element method is used. After tunning the finite element model, the seat can be made. Finally, the model test is used to verify the analytical result. The results of the study are listed as follows: 1.According to the results of modal testing and finite element analysis, the original vehicle seat has low frequency mode which will influence the operator, and the modes only shift when increase the load imposed to the seat. 2.According to the formulas derived, the seat modified by using cross-linkeage mechanism indeed has the soft-characteristic, which conforms to the human body. 3.The cross-linkage mechamism is used to improve the original vehicle seat. According to the first analysis results, the modified seat also has the resonance frequences which can influence operator. But the harmful frequences can be shifted by adjusting the spring constant and strengthening the seat structure. 4.The results of modal test and the finite element analsis for the modified seat are correlated, and the results havent modes which may influence the human body.
