Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 物理研究所 === 83 === The Heavy-Metal Fluoride Glasses exhibit high transparency from
the mid-IR( 6~7 micro meter ) to the near UV. This property
makes them possible candidate for a wide variety of
applications ranging from laser window to infrared fiber
optics. In order to understand the fundamental vibrational
characteristics of these glasses and the primary mechanisms
influencing their infrared transparency, the structural
investigations of these glasses by vibrational spectroscopy
(Infrared Reflectivity, multiphonon edge absorption
measurements and Polarized Raman Scattering) were performed. We
report here the infrared absorption spectra, including the
transmission and the reflectivity measurements, for different
multicomponent Heavy-Metal Fluoride Glasses. The TO-LO
vibrational pairs splitting were observed for these glasses by
IR reflection spectroscopy at different incident angles between
10 degree and 60 degree off-normal. The results will be
compared with those calculated by Kramers-Kronig analysis for
these glasses and will be discussed in light of the short and/
or intermediate range order.
