However, since the State intended to come accross to film industry after the Taiwan''s restoration from Japanese colony in 1945, not until 1960''s the Taiwan''s film industry has established on a basically fair scale. This paper hopes, from a wider point of view, to provide discussions on how the State Apparatus get involved with the development of Taiwan''s film industry. There are several clues revealing the "State" role in the process : First, cultural/ art policy controls and direct the contents and performance of the artistic forms. Second, law/political system regulate and institutionalize the shape of film industry. Third, the State''s taxation system regards film industry as pure business, therefore collects various items and huge amount of tax. Fourth, film, under the State''s educational system, is a necessary means for social propaganda to prevail the national identity. Lee Tain Dow 李天鐸 1995 學位論文 ; thesis 172 zh-TW
