Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 83 === A application-specific VLSI chip that can compute the discrete cosine, sine, Fourier and Hartley transforms in a real-time manner is presented. A generic processor based on the Impulse Response) recursive approach for those discrete is described. This processor is well suited for VLSI because it is modular, regular, local connected and without any limitation on transform size N. Compared with the functionality discrete transform chips available, this chip can support four different transforms. To achieve various transform computation, a memory- oriented architecture is used. To increase operation a pipelined designed is adopted. A 16-bit data length can achieve the operation precision. In this processor, a simple error circuit is also included to detect the memory error. This of the processor using 0.8 um SPDM CMOS technology can achieve 480 Mb/s data processing rate.
