碩士 === 元智大學 === 電機與資訊工程研究所 === 82 === In this research, we have designed and implemented a tool － MM- Edit which offers a distributed environment for a team to co- author a document with multimedia and hyperlink flavor. It allows the integration of text, graphics, images, audio, video and animations. Users of MM-Edit can also share ideas with all online co-authoring team members. An MM-Edit document can have time-dependent features so that it allows media being synchronized during its presentation. Instead of dealing with the complexity of ODA or SGML&HyTime, we propose a simpler multimedia document architecture facilitating our research. And by offering a set of APIs to manipulate that document architecture, reusability is assured. A programmer can be relieved from the burden of learning the detail of the proposed document architecture.
