automatically generate S-P chart from testing results. Then
according to the status presented by the S-P chart, the
sysyetem will analyze the instruction effect by comparing to
the six basic forms. Appropriate suggestion should be given if
necessary, and a proposal of a suitable grading score
assignment to each problem can also be provided. The theoretic
foundation of ESIEI is then based on the Student-Problem Chart
Analysis Theory established by L.B.Tzuoo Terng and Charles
Eberg(1979). In addition to the six primary categories among
the six primary categories. According to the identified
category of S-P chart, ESIEI will give some necessary
suggegestion to the user(teacher). From those suggestions, the
user can realize the effect of the instruction and decide the
the appropriate score assignment to each problem. The system
will trace up the P-chart in S-P chart to find the problem on
which present a jump, and then, adjusts the weight of the
problems a never mentioned in S-P chart analysis theory. ESIEI
will construct a S-P chart for a specific test from the output
file of the automatic scorring system. The system recognizes
the category of the six standard categories. Once the category
being idetified, diagnoses and suggestions can then be
provided. ESIEI had been applied for twenty classes at
different subjects in Taipei county Yeong-Pyng iunior high
school, Taipei cityFu-Hsing senior high school, Tao-Yuan county
Lu-Jwu primary school, and I-Lan county San-Shing junior high
school. The results and evidence show ESIEI is pratical.
