A Study on Using EDI System to the Enterprises and its Benefit Analysis -- Taking Customs Brokers for Example

碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 82 === EDI is a kind of technology which transmits the business ocuments with electronic methods and aids the operation of the enterprises. EDI has prevailed abroad for a long time. It has become the efficient mechanism in competitions of the business world and has been in use to obtain the successful opportunities in this intense circumstance. Recently, EDI has become more and more important, so our government and the businessmen push it forward hardly. Because the Cargo Clearance Automation has already fulfilled, this study will take customs brokers for example to explore the factors for the enterprise to use EDI, and its benefits after using it, and the reason why the enterprises don''t use the EDI system.　 The results suggests the factors can be classified into organizational factor, environmental factor and the correlated factor of the EDI system. Three are three aspects which consist of totally twelve variables. Only four kinds of benefits are approved for most of these businessmen interviewed. Those are reducing transaction time, speeding clearance, improving customer service; enhancing corporate image; having corporate image; having corporate gains competitive advantage; reducing the key- in error among business respectively. The benefit of using EDI will be affected by the numbers of the enterprise'' employees. And only three reasons why the enterprises don''t use the EDI system are approved for most of these businessmen interviewed. Besides dicussing these conditions, this study will explain the results and will make conclusions.
