wind load of a round top of a giant dome structure in an open
- field atmospheric boundary layer . The mean pressure
corfficient、drag coefficient and fluctuating pressure
coefficient , and the mean velocity profile and turbulence
intensity in the near wake of the structure will be used as
reference for the reseach and design of a giant dome
gymnasium . The four experimental models have different
surface corresponding roughness for each , and the flow field
Reynolds numbers are limited between 1.1x10^5 ~5.7x10^5 .
From the results the largest positive pressure
coefficient of the round top of the smooth-surface model in
the open-field atmospheric boundary layer is 0.5 and appears
to be at the adjoining point of the round top in wind
direction and the bottom of the cylinder ; the least
negative pressure coefficient is -1.3 and near is the place of
the elevation angle 80 degrees of the round top ; and the
scattered separation point on the round top are around 145
degrees . However the possitive pressure corfficient of the
roungh-surface models decreases to 0.45 ; while it appears
at the same location compared to the smooth and the upper
stream of the place of the elevation angle of 75 degree . At
this time , the place of the separation point in the
boundary layer of the round top also rises back to the
elevation angle of 110 degree .
