Summary:碩士 === 文化大學 === 家政學系 === 82 === In the process of social change, the change in social value, and family structure, and a stronger sovereignty of people resulted in social illness, cuasing continual rise of family problems. Therefore, 「 Maternal Class 」 standing for parents education, was established to solve the problem and is worthy of discussion of discussion and research. The thesis is conducted with a view to looking into the results and difficulties of 「 Maternal Class」, which has been in practice for the past twenty years, and also with a view to evaluating the work achievement of the counsellors after they receive special training in technology. The research is carried on through field visit and reference consulting in respect to the theories of the change of roles of both sexes in social change, parents education theories, the function of the role of parents education, the function of the activities of 「 Maternal Class」 in communities, on-the-job training for the parents education counsellor, the function of counsellor for 「Maternal Class」, etc. After the theoretical research, a deeper understanding of the results of parents education and the function of 「Maternal Class」 is acquired and then a questionnaire is designed. The random samples are taken out form the participants of 「Maternal Class」 form 1989 to 1993, totalling 566 effective, which are analyzed statistically as follows: 1.The sex, marriage, profession, specialty, level of education, age, and income of the counsellors, on judging their influcence on their contribution to 「Maternal Class」, the frequency of activity, the fund for an activity, the way of using the fund, the curriculum of the class, the way of consolidating the class, the difficulty of promotion, merit and demerit systems, ways of contacting the graduates, the supporting percentage toward the government leaders, the sources of fund, the types of activities, differences of signficance. 2.The contribution of 「Maternal Class」 to the family and society is well acknowledged. The most ideal students of 「Maternal Class」 comes from the enthusiastic volunteers of the community. The most welcome curriculum is related to career planning and parents-children communication. The most effective way to consolidats 「Maternal Class」 is to let the graduates of 「Maternal Class」 to join its teaching and visiting activities. The research has come up with the following suggestions: 1. To establish the sense of value in respect to the organization of the class, increasing the willingness of participation of the counsellors. 2.The ideal curriculum of the class and the teaching methods can be designed and adjusted in accordance with the sex, vocation, and the level of education of the counsellors, in order to improve the effectiveness of learning. 3.A curriculum preparatory committee is to be established for the class. 4.To integrate human resources and to popularize activities in communities.
