Secondly by varying polydiol types, NCO/OH molar ratio and amount of dispersing center, we discuss the effect of various composition on physical properties of cotton. Also, we inspected the properties of fabrics treated with water- borne PU prepolymer only. Whatever kind of the PU prepolymer is added, the dry and wet crease recovery angles raised. In addition,ten- sile strength retention, abrasion resisitance and mois- ture regain are also improved. Among these different nature prepolymers,nonionic PU prepolymer is the candi- date in keeping the balance of physical properties of the finished fabrics, with the opitimal addition of 1% (concentration). Regarding the variety the molecular weight of PEG polydiol during the content of nonionic waterborne PU prepolymer, the greater molecular weight resulted the treated fabric possesses higher moisture regain and wet crease recovery angles. With increasing NCO/OH molar ratio in nonionic waterborne PU prepolymer, the wet crease recovery and abrassion resistance retention were improved. The PU prepolymer with more dispersing diol, moisture regain was also increased. For cotton treated by PU prepolymer only, the dry crease recovery, wet crease recovery,moisture regain and abrasion resistance retention were better than untreated one.
