It cannot be resolved efficiently by traditional programming models . This study investigates a model named Fuzzy Linear Programming Model (FLPM) which could obtain a compromise solution for the objects more efficiently. The model can properly describe linguistic objective and vague constrains conditions with fuzzy set theory , and it makes FLPM more suitable for practical reality.In appraising the model performance by a penalty function defined in this study , FLPM has better performance than the Operating Curve Method. This study also investigates the Fuzzy Probable Programming Model (FPPM) to deal with the case including probability and fuzziness simultanously.In comparing the values of object function, FPPM is not as well as active Operating Curve Method.However, it is undoubtedly worthy to study and improve this model more because the model can resolve a problem including both probability and fuzziness. An experimental expert system with FLPM was developed in this study for the purpose of automatic reservoir operation .
