modern computer applications. Intergrating several low-cost
machines into a network and processing jobs parallelly, we can
perform a higher computing power than single machine. It can
also support a complicated control and measurement system for
real time purpose. However studies of DCS are almost concen-
trated on workstation networks. In Taiwan, the applications
enviroment of personal computers are much better than work-
stations, thus it is worth to study the DCS in personal
computers systems. A dynamic network for personal computers is
adoptedin this paper. For the dynamic linking networks, we
developed a Bi-port Ram Module(BPRM) and a Multi-Bus Card
(MBC). One personal computer could connect to 4 other personal
computers through the BPRM and MBC. In case study, three
personal computers are connected together as a network for DCS.
We made two tests for for ditributed computing on this network.
One is a computing intensive test, it gets 2.18 times speed
faster than the fastest computer in system . Another is a test
for searching database, it makes 2.67 times speed. In this
paper, the expressions of a task are divided into three parts:
CPU,IO, and Network expressions, one can use such classi-
fication to predict the processing time of each computer of
net- work and the efficiency of the whole system.
