An efficient master production schedule is resulted from the decisions which are designed originally. These decisions are named as MPS policies, including (1)methods of MPS, (2)master scheduling items (3) planning horizon, (4)time fence, (5)time bucket, (6)replanning interval, (7)safety stock, (8)safety time, (9)lot-sizing rule. The main goal of this paper is to discover the critical factors that affect the MPS policies for the factories in Taiwan and to discuss the reaction of each policy that caused by the critical factors. The results of this paper demonstrate that the critical factors could be classified as follows: 1.Product Factors: including (1)product profile, (2) standardiz- ing or customerlizing of products, (3)the cost of products. (4)purchasing leadtime, (5)fabrication leadtime, (6)assembling leadtime. 2.Manufacturing Factors: including (1)MPS changing cost, (2) service cost, (3) setup cost, (4)planning horizon, (5)replann- ing interval. 3.Environmental Factors: including (1)delivery leadtime, (2) volume of demand, (3) demand pattern, (4)distance of time. 4.Company Policy Factors: including the inventory policy. And in this paper, we also discuss the influences of every factors to the MPS Policies. This paper is an exploring research and its main goal is to find out of the questions, establish the hypothesis, and create continuously research of related questions. Therefore, at the end of this paper. there are seven hypothesis which could be demonstrated by the following research. And relevant suggestions and discussions are given to conclude the findings. 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 商學系 === 82 === Master Production Schedule is an effective tool which can make
high efficiency of manufacturing and high level of service at
the same time for companies. An efficient master production
schedule is resulted from the decisions which are designed
originally. These decisions are named as MPS policies,
including (1)methods of MPS, (2)master scheduling items (3)
planning horizon, (4)time fence, (5)time bucket, (6)replanning
interval, (7)safety stock, (8)safety time, (9)lot-sizing rule.
The main goal of this paper is to discover the critical factors
that affect the MPS policies for the factories in Taiwan and to
discuss the reaction of each policy that caused by the critical
factors. The results of this paper demonstrate that the
critical factors could be classified as follows: 1.Product
Factors: including (1)product profile, (2) standardiz- ing or
customerlizing of products, (3)the cost of products.
(4)purchasing leadtime, (5)fabrication leadtime, (6)assembling
leadtime. 2.Manufacturing Factors: including (1)MPS changing
cost, (2) service cost, (3) setup cost, (4)planning horizon,
(5)replann- ing interval. 3.Environmental Factors: including
(1)delivery leadtime, (2) volume of demand, (3) demand pattern,
(4)distance of time. 4.Company Policy Factors: including the
inventory policy. And in this paper, we also discuss the
influences of every factors to the MPS Policies. This paper is
an exploring research and its main goal is to find out of the
questions, establish the hypothesis, and create continuously
research of related questions. Therefore, at the end of this
paper. there are seven hypothesis which could be demonstrated
by the following research. And relevant suggestions and
discussions are given to conclude the findings.
