Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 土木工程研究所 === 82 === The purpose of this study is to investigate numerically the hydraulic characteristics of a tidal river. To reflect the unsteadiness and stratification of the flow pattern, water continuity equation, momentum equations and salinity convection- diffusion equation are solved in the model. Body fitted coordinate and curvilinera coordinate systems are adopted to generate grids and to reflect the irregularities of the boundaryies. Split-operator approach method is adopted to solved the governing equations. The equations are separated into three portions, namely propagation, advection, diffusion, and solved with different numerical schemes. Each solution is verified with the analytical solutions, and the results are quite accurate.
