Usually,the Gyrocompass and speed meter are the standard navigation equipment which are used to det- ermine the ship position by Dead Reckoning Method. The quick delivery ships need more dynamic information to control the ship performance. This thesis study the low cost Simplified Inertical Na- vigation System which include existent Gyrocompass and the writer developed attitude instruments. In order to overcome the drift of Simplified INS, the GPS is used to aid the INS. Through the kalman Filter software, we can get the high ac- curacy performance level. Meanwhile, the ship states can also be estimated which are implemented in ship body control.
