The purposes of this research were :(1) to investigate the short-term and six-week follow-up effects of "calligraphy therapy program "on attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, self- concept for elementary school hyperactive children. (2) to explore the effects of "calligraphy therapy program"and the feasibility of calligraphy guidance for elementary school and offer a reference for school counselors. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1.Calligraphy therapy program showed no significant short-term and six-week follow-up effects on the improvement in attention score of AD scale for elementary school hyperactive chlidren. 2.Calligraphy therapy program showed significant short-term and six-week follow-up effects on the improvement in the score of attentional observation rating for elementary school hyperactive chlidren. 3.Calligraphy therapy program showed no significant short-term and six-week follow-up effects on the improvement in impulsive score of AD scale for elementary school hyperactive chlidren. 4.Calligraphy therapy program showed significant short-term effects on the improvement in hyperactive score of AD scale for elementary school hyperactive chlidren. But showed no significant six-week follow-up on the improvement. 5.The calli- graphy therapy program showed significant short-term effects on the improvement in A and E score of the Self-concept Questionaire for elementary hyperactive children ,others do not. But showed no significant six-week follow-up on the improvement. 6.From the analysis of the interview data,it had increased in attention, self-concept during the experimental period. 7.From the analysis of the interview data,it had reduced in impulsivity, hyper- activity during the experimental period.
