The distribution system data such as substation electricity distribution feeder circuit diagrams,and customer power consumption patterns are collected and anaiyzed.The connectivity between distribution transformers and customer served is identified by the field survey.The typical daily load pattern of the test feeders are recorded.The various type of system loss such as line loss and transformer loss are solved by computer simulation according to the typical load paterns of the test feeders and the served customers. Since there are so many facility involved in the distribution system,a CLIPPER based database management system is used to store the relative information of segments,transformers, capacitor customers,etc. The simplified distribution models are then derived for the distribution system so that the system analysis can be performedin a very effective manner.With the application of distribution database and simplified feeder models, distribution engineers can have better understanding about the distribution system loss so that proper strategy may be proposed to improve the operation efficiency of distribution systems.
