It is estimated to reach US$28 billion in 1997 with its rapid growth.In Japan,the production value of electric testing instrumentation was 654 billion Japanese Yens in 1992. In Taiwan,the export value of automatic testing equipment was US$2.95 million in 1993 while the import value was US$26.40 million.The import value was 9 times the export value. 2.The technological strategy adopted by the manufacturers for automatic testing system includs :(1)The technology is main forecasted by tendency extension method.(2)The technology is acquired from participation in business shows and subscription of magazines. (3)The source of technology is purchased from foreign companies.(4)While introducing technology,the major factor for assessment is to consider if it can meet the strategic target of the company instead of the ratio of repayment from investment.(5)More than 90% of the technology should be modified after being introduced.(6)The technoloy shall be applied to the products made by the manufacturer instead of being transferred or re-sold to others.(7)The R&D Department will be most seriously influenced by the study and planning of the technological strategy.(8)The most importment factor to evaluate the technology is to consider if the technology is available to be improved to meet the requirement of actual production.(9)The automatic testing technology most required in the next five years will be to renew the traditional testing technology,but not to develop the relevant new technology.(10)The cost put for selecting technology and the prerequisite for supplier are less important than quality.
