It influences economic development and living environment, and changes our living style. The level of transportation technology literacy of junior high school students will influence the development of transportation technology. Therefore, a study on the content of transportation technology literacy become more important.   The purposes of this study are to :   1.explore the theories on transportatin literacy education.   2.analyze the content of transportatin literacy education in America.   3.assess the content of transportation literacy education in the level of junior high school.   4.examine the differences among transportation scholars, technology educators, junior-high-school industrial-arts teachers, and graduate students of industrial arts department.   5.The results of this study will supply as the reference of editting teaching materials in junior high school.   A questionnaire was developed after a thorough review of literature. Panel experts'' review was held for content validity. The questionnaires were sent to 429 subgjects who were transportation scholars, technology educators, junior-high-school industrial-arts teachers, and graduate students of industrial arts department to gather the perceptions of respondents in terms of 44 variables dealing with the cognitive domain, technical domain and impact domain of transportation literacy education in the level of junior high school. A five-point Likert-type scale was used. Data were analyzed by means of Analysis of Variance and Duncan''s Multiple Range tests to determine the existence of differences in perceptions among transportation scholars, technology educators, junior-high-school industrial-arts teachers, and graduate students of industrial arts department.   The major conclusions of this study are as follows:   1. There are 13 items in the cognitive domain of transportation literacy education on the level of junior high school.   2. There are 9 items in the technical domain of transportation literacy education on the level of junior high school.   3.There are 13 items in the impact domain of transportation literacy education on the level of junior high school.   4. The perceptions among transportation scholars, technology educators, junior-high-school industrial-arts teachers, and graduate students of industrial arts department are not significantly different.   Recommendation were made regardging the content of curriculum, the editting of curriculum, and future study.
