Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 資訊及電子工程研究所 === 82 === With the progress in the technologies of electronic, an idea about multimedia is outlined. Computers are predicted to be widely accepted, and the extent of their utilizations is larger and larger in the future. An integrated multimedia system which is a hot realm of research nowadays provides informations in different fields such as entertainment, education, and life. There are lots of systems or prototypes in the current multimedia authoring systems. More of them only emphasize the integration of media rather taking this into account carefully whether the authoring system meets the requirements of system development from the viewpoint of software design as well as lacks the mechanism for the construction of intelligent software. The current authoring systems all provide the programmer an easy-to-programming environment so that they could develop a system as quickly as possible. Easy-to- programming is a good idea for development of general software, however, it may not meet all the requirements in the development of complicated software system such as an intelligent multimedia software. In this thesis, an authoring system for intelligent multimedia system (IMS) is presented. It adopts a special organization for multimedia objects and characterizes the independent features of the system components, which are advantageous for the separate execution units to describe the transition of segments of multimedia objects and the presentation of segments of them. Owing to significant differences between the architecture of IMS and that of general authoring system, it becomes very easy to change the flow control of any program and for the addition of intelligent reasoning functions. After combining the IMS system and CAROL3 language into one integrated multimedia development system, we can take full advantages of the features mentioned above to development an intelligent multimedia software.
