In this coupled films,the TbFeCo layer of fixed composition was capped with the DyFeCo layer of various composition.The recording behavior of this coupled films were investigated as a function of DyFeCo composition. We found that the insertion of a proper capping layer of DyFeCo alloy film in direct contact to the recording layer of TbFeCo alloy film reduces the bias field substantially.The DyFeCo capping layer acts as a external field enhancing layer through exchange coupling with TbFeCo recording layer.This coupled films are hopeful candidates for field modulation overwriting media in magneto-optical recording.
