magnetic suspension wind tunnel with dual magnetic poles, upper
and lower poles, and to design a controller to achieve the
requirements. In the beginning, we derive the magnetic force of
the suspension magnetic system to obtain the dynamics equation,
then, design a controller to control the states of the
suspended object. Finally, we discuss the disturbance induced
by the lower pole. In the modeling problem, we derive the
magnetic force according to the classic magnetic theory under
some assumption. In order to verify the structure of magnetic
force, we measure the magnetic flux density by using the Gauss
meter and XYZ table and also measure the magnetic force of
suspended object by using the electronic weight scale.In the
control problem, we introduce balanced current to balance
gravitation force, and use feedback linearization technique to
linearize the nonlinear dynamic system. Finally, we design a
controller on the dual-pole large gap magnetic suspension
system. In the tracking problem, the reference signals of step
input and sinusoidal input are considered. In order to obtain a
better performance, the control structure is modified. In the
disturbance problem, the disturbances by attraction mode and
repulsion mode are discussed. Finally, the torque generted by
the disturbance which is unstable and uncontrollable is also
discussed in this thesis.
