碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工程科學系 === 82 === In NIXE environment, new thoughts on designing network
protocols, network topology, and user interface are required.
It is the motivation of this study to design and implement an
Object-Oriented Communication Server(OOCS) which enforces the
requirements --performance, and reliability--on top of the
Parton kernel. OOCS supports an object-oriented network
communication mechanism to facilitate message transmission
between Object-Oriented Support Subsystems (OOSSs) and other
system objects in NIXE. The primary aspects of OOCS are the
user interface, software framework, and protocol
implementation. OOCS provides a user-level Courier object,
which supports the appropriate OO API (Object-Oriented
Application Program Interface) for users to achieve the high-
performance, and high-reliability network communication. The
software framework is a new architecture that is designed by
Object-Oriented Methodology for implementing network protocols.
The current network hardware topology is Ethernet and OOCS
processes message transmission between network hosts by point-
to-point and/or group communication functions. In addition,
VMTP, IP protocols are implemented by following the Object-
Oriented Methodology concept. It suffices to provide an exmaple
for implementing ordinary network protocols by OO Methodology
and for further enhancement of OOCS.
