Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 紡織工程研究所 === 82 === In the study,four different molar ratios of 4,4'-diphenylm-
ethane diisocyanate (MDI), diamine-terminated poly(m-phenylene
isophthalamide)(PmIA)prepolymer and two kinds of aromatic
dianh- drides were used to synthesize eight PmIA-imide
copolymers. Bes- ide,four polyimides were also synthesized from
MDI with four ki- nds of dianhydrides. Therefore twelve imide
containing polymers were investigated totally. From the
experimental results, these polymers had an inherent
viscosities of 0.5-1.5 dL/g, and showed a transparent and
flexible film. The tensile strength,elongation at break and
initial modulus of polymer films were found to be ranging from
61-108 MPa, 5-10% and 1.54-2.50 GPa, respectively. From the
thermal analysis the glass transition temperatures of the
polymers were in the range of 223-352℃.The 10 % weight loss
temperatures exhibited a range of 415-575℃ in the air and 424-
583℃ in the nitrogen atmosphere. From the X-ray diffraction
st- udies,it showed that all polymers displayed a amorphous
structu- re. The solubility of PmIA-imide copolymers in organic
solvent were demonstrated to be better than that of polyimides.
In this study, two kinds of copolymer fibers were spun by wet
spinning process. These fibers had tensile strength around 1.4
g/d, and proved to be spinnable.
