碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 81 === As communication in loosely coupled systems gets faster, concurrent computing environments based on loosely coupled networks becomes attractive for running parallel applications. We have developed a Distributed Execution System allowing a sequential coded program to run concurrently on a homogeneous loosely coupled system based on distributed operating system Mach. This thesis is focused on the design and implementation of Distributed Task Server that provides runtime support to this concurrent computing system through dedicated remote procedure calls. We describe the overall control structure of the DT server and the mechanisms performing the synchronization and the cooperation among distributed user tasks.
