碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 園藝學系 === 81 === Experiments of shoot bending, nutrient spray, and PE film ground cover to induce lateral-flower-bud formation of the '' Hosui'' pear had been carried out at the NTU Highland Experiment Farm, in Meifeng, Nantou County in Taiwan, 1992-1993. Scion- woods taken from the trialed tree were treated with 45℃ hot- water and 5℃ chilled before trans-grafting on to the Hengshan pear in lowland in Kuo-shing area. Number of lateral-flower-bud formation of the shoots, flowering and fruiting of the scion- wood performances after trans-grafted were also recorded as follows: 1.According to different period of shoot bending, the number of lateral-flower-bud per tree averaged 723.2, 795.7 and 494 when treated in early July, August and September respectively. 2.Shoot bending with nutrient spraying, 600.5 lateral-flower- buds formed although there was no significant effect in the open field of the nutrient spraying only. 3.For the shoot bending with PE film ground cover, 875.3 lateral- flower-buds per tree were counted, but 736.7 buds in the plot of PE film ground cover treatment only were observed. 4.Blooming time was advanced for about one week or more when the scion-woods treated with 45℃ hot-water for 10, 20 and 30 minutes before trans-grafting. Better results were also gained when treated with 5℃ chilling comparison with the check plot.
