It was shown that seasonal variations of indoor and outdoor fungi number concentrations were remarkable in the subtropical climate. The indoor and outdoor air spore counts varied considerably from residence to residence. The geometric mean contrations of indoor and outdoor fungi were found to be higher than 1000 CfU/m^3 during the summmer, and abruptly de- creased to 100 CFU/m^3 in the winter. These observed seasoal variations of fungi concentrations are highly correlated with the mould allergy patterns in Taiwan. In addition, the ratios of indoor to outdoor fungi concentrations (0.21-3.81) were too lower to indicate the presence of any indoor fungi sources. Indoors,Penicillium showed the highest concentrations, especially in the summer months. Moreover,Cladosporium and Aspergillus were also found frequently. Regarding the outside air, Cladosporium and Penicillium were observed to be dominant during summer Li,Chih-Shan 李芝珊 學位論文 ; thesis 97 zh-TW
