Since most of the CAD/CAM surfaces are expressed in parametric form and blend surfaces are often occurred in shape design, it is in urgent need of developing the blending techniques for parametric surfaces. This thesis develops a very easy and flexible procedure to blend parametric surfaces. In this procedure, a new method called the MINACP method is provided. This new method could prevent the corresponding blends from the undesirable oscillation. As the blend is drived, the normals and offsets of the blend surface can also be calculated exactly. This procedure generally guarantees the tangent plane continuity along the boundary curves on compound surfaces. There are many cases provided to show this design procedure. As a result, it is easy to apply this blending procedure to an exiting CAD/CAM system. Tsay, Der Min 蔡得民 1993 學位論文 ; thesis 46 en_US |

碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 81 === The blending of parametric surfaces is an important subject in
geometry modeling. Since most of the CAD/CAM surfaces are
expressed in parametric form and blend surfaces are often
occurred in shape design, it is in urgent need of developing
the blending techniques for parametric surfaces. This thesis
develops a very easy and flexible procedure to blend
parametric surfaces. In this procedure, a new method
called the MINACP method is provided. This new method could
prevent the corresponding blends from the undesirable
oscillation. As the blend is drived, the normals and
offsets of the blend surface can also be calculated exactly.
This procedure generally guarantees the tangent plane
continuity along the boundary curves on compound
surfaces. There are many cases provided to show this design
procedure. As a result, it is easy to apply this blending
procedure to an exiting CAD/CAM system.
