ratios was prepared by the copreciptation method. These
samples were used to be Ni-Mo sulfide of thiophene
hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and were characterized with respect
to surface areas, pore volume, pore size distribution and
thermal stabilities . The re- sults indicated that the catalyst
with Al/B ratio of 10 gives the highest activity.
Hydrodesulfurization(HDS) of thiophene over NiMo/AB catalyst
was carried out in a integral-type micro-differential
reactor at 667K and atmosphere . The results showed that the
Al/B mole ratio has little effect on either the stability or
the activity besides NiMo/AlO whose activity is poor . TPR
patterns of cata- lysts shows the low temperature reduction
peak T■■sharply dec- rease at first , and then nearly
maintained at a constant value as a increasing the boron
content . The activation energy for thiophene HDS is 16.44 kcal/
mol. Incorporation of little boron into the alumina framework
had little effect on the specific surface area. Where as ,
when the amounts of incorporation boron is large , the
specific surface area is strongly influenced by the boron
content . The results showed that the NiMo/AB catalysts are
more active then the con- ventional NiMo/AlOcatalyst in HDS
reaction . From activity viewpoint, NiMo/AB catalyst may be
useful and can be used as HDS catalyst.
