Use of Basalt Powder as Soil Amendment

碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 水土保持研究所 === 78 === The purpose of this thesis is to study the amending effect of the basalt powder on the chemical and physical properties of Feng-shan and How-lii soils. Each soil was treated with basalt powder at four ratesinamely, 0, 1.0, 5.0, and 15.0% by weight. The treated s...

Each soil was treated with basalt powder at four ratesinamely, 0, 1.0, 5.0, and 15.0% by weight. The treated samples were stored in plastic bags for six months before testing. The zero point of charge ( pHo) of the soils is determined by potent iometric titration; cation exchange capacity, by Gillman method ; and aggregate stability, by multiple wet sieving, respectively. From the results obtained, the following facts can be concluded: (1)The zero point of charge, pHo for both soils decreased with increasing rate of basalt powder added, this means that the surface charge density of the soil will increase with basalt powder treatment. (2)The measured cation exchange capacity of both soils increased with increasing rate of basalt powder added. (3)No significant evidence was found that basalt powder can improve the aggregate stability for How-lii soil. For Feng-shan soil, however, there is even a decreasing trend in aggregate stability with increasing rate of basalt powder added probably due to the high contents in exchangeable sodium and magnesium in the basalt powder. 萬鑫森 1990 學位論文 ; thesis 47 zh-TW
