This system produces a multi-sentence commentary in Chinese on a kind of board game called Othello. The commentary generator is discussed under the generally accepted model of text generation. The linguistic knowledge that we have considered is written as rules and a pattern matching process is designed to manipulate these rules. We adopt a previously constructed sentence generator based on systemic grammar to generate final surface text.
