| Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 日本研究所 === 75 === There have been so many student abuse cases on the campuses in Japan for the past few years. Many juveniles in school in general have committed suicide, simply becanse they could not tolerate their schoolmates, mere abuse. As an illustration, in 1984 (the 59th year of shiowa), seven cases of suicide happened and in 1985 (the 60th year of shiowa) the suicide cases increased to be nine cases. As the student abuses cases increase so do the suicide cases. Many cases of injury, threat or revenge among peers occur in company with the student abuse. All these cases have become serious problems and the educational cirisis.
Besides increase in the quality of the student abuse, the quantity of the abusing behavior also becomes sophisticated among the juveniles in school in modern Japan. The student abuse is now not a case which occure occasionally, but there is a strong tendency for the student abuse to be long influential, uncovered , group-orientd, pretentious and playful. The behavior is not merely insulting or brawling but the side effect of this frequent behavior aloways leads to the student''s playing truant, family voilence, mental disease and suicide. Posterior to the campus violence, the student abuse has become the new type of children ill behavior in Japan.
Many factors have been involved in the student abuse, but the student abuse has been closely related to the current Japanese families, schools and social and cultural aspects. All these related factors mingle with each other by means of the cause and the effect and vice vearsa. From the broad point of view, the student abuse should be regarded as a sort of civilization disease, which prevails in childhood.
Currently, our country lies in the same situation as does Japan. Owing to the rapid industrialization and capitalization, the social structure and life style are quickly transformed. With the trobules that follow the social development, the problem of the juvenile abuse is what is considered to be most serious. As a result, the problem of the student abuse on the campuses in Japan could serve as a precious example as a precautious warning.
