碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 72 === Document Formatter is designed to provide a convenient enviroment for writers, to simplify the process of generation and to increase productivity and efficiency. The paper characterizes the possibility and problem of developing interactive Chinese document formatter. This Chinese Document Formatter combines the functions of editing and formatting. The working on output of future is realized in this system. The editing functions include changing character, insertion, copying, moving and searching. By pushing different function key, a user can arrange the document in specified formal. The formatting functions include tabulation, margin setting, indentation, paragraph break and page break. Document can also be printed in different sizes of fonts and various page format. Besides, The directive message and help screen can help che user to complete the document preparation. Because the system, implemented in standard high level language - PASCAL, has high portability, it's also available for various normal Chinese personal computers.
