Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築研究所 === 72 === Contradiction and complexion are the most outstanding characteristics of Le Corbusier''s architectural works. These are also what''s most fascinating about Le Corbusier''s creation But the characteristics of contradiction and complexion are not just found in his architectural works only. They are also concretely reflected on his architectural thoughts in the process of his life. Although they are expressed in different ways and through different levels and that vary in time and space, still there exists an unseparable connection in between and are related to the principle of dialectics in the universal law. Subject of this thesis emphasize the four points stated below: 1.Relation between the characteristic of dialectics and the inspiration of Le Corbusier''s creativity. 2.Relation between the characteristic of dialectics and the tragic consciousness in the process of Le Corbusier''s life. 3.Relation between the characteristic of dialectics and the contradiction and complexion found in Le Corbusier''s thoughts, architectural theory and works. 4.Analysis on the contradiction and complexion found in Le Corbusier''s architectural theory and the space and style of his works. Contents of this thesis as follows: Preface: motives, purposes and methods of this research. Introduction:Analysis on the tendency to contradiction in modern architectures. Chapter I: Study on the contradiction found in Le Corbusier''s architectures and the tragedy in the process of his life. Chapter II: Analysis on the architectural theory. Chapter III: Analysis on the architectural space and style. Chapter IV: Conclusion.
