Description
Summary:In my paintings I incorporate text and physical damage to the surface to draw a parallel to the pressures felt during the two years in a Master of Fine Art program. Each painting is an exploration in translating specific social interactions. The words and phrases are excerpts from conversations with peers, professors and visiting artists. \n The materials that I employ are limited to wood, paper, graphite, white paint, and acrylic medium. Layering allows for investigation of frustration, anger, humor and rebellion. These emotions arise from the contradicting expectations I find myself contemplating.
