Summary:<p> The purpose of this project is to develop and fund an intervention program that provides substance abuse services to Hispanic adolescents and families who are experiencing problem with substance use. The goal of the project is to provide education, resources, and prevention services for Hispanic adolescents and families that have substance use problems. Mental Health &amp; Addiction Services for Adolescents (MASA), a project of the California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol &amp; Drug Abuse, Inc. (CHCADA) was the agency selected as the focus of this project.</p><p> An extensive literature review was conducted to examine the need for implementation of substance use program. The knowledge gained through the literature assisted the grant writer in developing a grant that meets the needs of Hispanic adolescent and families with any substance use problem. The Weingart Foundation was identified as the best fit the criteria to their goals were aligned with the mission of MASA.</p>
