| Summary: | <p> The purpose of this policy analysis was to examine the Nursing Home Reform Act, as included in the provisions of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) of 1987. Using Gil’s analytical framework, this analysis discusses the positive and negative effects the Nursing Home Reform Act had on the growing nursing home industry in the United States. </p><p> This examination includes a historical overview of elder care and how societal attitudes toward aging have shaped health care policies for older adults.
