Additionally, exploratory analyses examined what additional parental personality factors may affect parent-reported emotional and behavioral difficulties in children, as well as how marital conflict impacts the relationship between these factors. Somewhat contrary to previous research, this study found that personality characteristics of fathers, rather than mothers, were more highly correlated with parent reported child maladjustment. Specifically, self-reported depressive symptoms in fathers were related to reports of more externalizing behavioral problems in children. Limitations and directions for future research are described. 2018-05-09 English text Xavier University / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=xavier1525816225614789 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=xavier1525816225614789 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
