This study investigated the correlation between therapeutic alliance for OTs and both child patients and their parents, and therapeutic progress of children. The study also investigated the correlation between therapeutic alliance among these individuals and family adherence. Twenty-five parents participated, reporting their therapeutic alliance with the OTs, as well as the child-therapist alliance. Four OTs reported on their own alliance with child patients and their parents, as well as progress of the child on OT goals. Both parents and OTs reported on adherence. Results showed that with the parent-therapist therapeutic alliance, therapist report of bond and collaboration were both significantly associated with therapeutic outcome of the child client and family adherence from the therapist perspective. Results also showed that with child-therapist therapeutic alliance, parent report of bond and collaboration were both significantly associated with therapeutic outcome of the child and therapist report of collaboration was associated with therapeutic outcome of the child and therapist report of family adherence.
