The scanner uses two disconnected frames with embedded lights to merge the coordinate systems of multiple cameras. The frame also serves in finding the laser plane as the lasers are swept over the surface from multiple locations. Both hardware and software details are presented as well as techniques for automating most aspects of the scanner.
