Drawing upon a social constructionist perspective and Anthony Giddens’ structuration theory, the study uses interview and document data to analyze discursively both apparent and hidden contradictions to reveal an apparent structure that both enables and constrains future discourse, action, and adaptability of the organization. A postmodern lens is used to highlight dissensus and fragmentation, as well as to problematize a traditional and “enduring” view of organizational identity. 2001-10-11 English text University of Cincinnati / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ucin990709149 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ucin990709149 restricted--full text not available online This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
