The objective of this dissertation is to improve the diagnosis of coronary artery disease such as epicardial stenosis and microvascular disease using combined anatomical (%area stenosis: %AS) and functional (pressure and flow) parameter, lesion flow coefficient (LFC). The LFC is defined as the ratio of %AS to the square root of the ratio of the pressure drop across the stenosis to the dynamic pressure in the throat region). The hypothesis is that the LFC can better delineate the contributions of epicardial stenosis and microvascular disease, under clinical scenario.
