These sensors can be used to measure a wide range of bio-chemical parameters such as concentration of molecules, ions,gases and molecular interaction. They can be used to model physical parameters such as temperature, displacement, acceleration, flow and so on. The miniaturization of the sensors allows them to be integrated with very small handheld devices which can be produced in bulk and thus calls for miniaturization of the signal processing unit as well to process and characterize them. This thesis work aims to build such a generic signal processing unit, a current monitor, based on the idea of amperometric detection of lowfrequency signals generated by different sensors.
