This program provides $100,000 dollars and Collaborative Problem-Solving Model (CPS Model) as guideline for qualified projects. Cincinnati's Environmental Justice communities have severer public health issues than non-Environmental Justice Communities. The research shows abandoned buildings problem is a public health threat and an Environmental Justice issue. Project renovating abandoned buildings related with Environmental Justice issues in Cincinnati's Environmental Justice communities is qualified to apply EPA Environmental Justice grant and should be a priority. The CPS Model working with other methods addressing buildings abandonment problem can continuously help Environmental Justice communities efficiently organize and leverage resources. To address Environmental Justice concerns related with buildings abandonment, three key elements are recommended: setting goals strategically, building community capacity, and establishing multi-stakeholder partnerships. 2008 English text University of Cincinnati / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ucin1212083379 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=ucin1212083379 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
