The Health Belief Model (HBM) was used to examine from the mutual interplay of attitude toward taste and nutritional information of fast food, which factor is prioritized by consumers in predicting fast food consumption. In this cross-sectional, non-randomized study, an electronic self- administered survey was used as the primary mode of data collection. The survey was sent out to the students, staff, and the faculty members of the then College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toledo. The statistical tests (using SPSS 20) revealed that attitude toward taste did not influence fast food consumption; nutritional information did not influence fast food consumption; and moreover, attitude toward taste did not influence nutritional knowledge. From the non significant results from the statistical tests no conclusion could be drawn about the mutual relationship of attitude toward taste and nutritional information of fast foods. 2012 English text University of Toledo / OhioLINK http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=toledo1353034670 http://rave.ohiolink.edu/etdc/view?acc_num=toledo1353034670 unrestricted This thesis or dissertation is protected by copyright: all rights reserved.
