As demands for increased capacity and quality grow, improved interface with high speed and flexibility must be implemented. The use of newly-developed analog, digital and DSP hardware make it possible to meet these needs. With proper hardware and software interface between those components, one can actually build up a versatile system which can be used to communicate with many devices with different protocols, to form a simple measurement instrument or the front end of the software radio system, etc. This thesis describes a new wireless receiver that has been interfaced to compact range radar system at the ElectroSeience Laboratory of the Ohio State University.
