The goal of the study was to understand what factors are important to the retention of midlevel Student Affairs professionals and why these factors are important. This project was an explanatory sequential methods study (Creswell & Plano Clark, 2007) starting with an analysis of a quantitative theoretical model and ending with a focus group. First, the study used the structural equation model developed by Rosser and Javinar (2003) to answer the question: What factors lead to the retention of midlevel Student Affairs professionals?
